There are many ways you can assist the Blue Star Moms Houston Area Chapter - joining our membership, supporting our service projects or volunteering your time are just a few.
First and foremost, we support our fellow military moms through monthly membership meetings. Our meetings occur the fourth Tuesday of each month (excluding December). Our meeting location is at the American Legion Hall at 307 Charles St, Humble, TX 77338. For meeting specific information see the home page or current members page.
We have a place for you at our monthly meeting. We are always willing to listen, give hugs and offer encouragement and support. If you are looking for a supportive group that understands what it is like to have a son, daughter or loved one off to boot camp, recently deployed or who is actively serving in the Armed Forces, this is a place for you. We support each other through Care and Share at the meetings. We all have stories to tell about our family members and Blue Star Moms allows time in the meetings to share our joys and concerns. Through laughter and encouragement we support each other as we navigate these times with our family members so far away. If you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer with Blue Star Moms, we have a place for you too whether you have a lot of time to donate or just a few hours a week. Please consider getting involved.
Our organization gathers donations to pack care packages for our deployed servicemen and women worldwide. We are always accepting donations for care packages. Most of the items we ship in our care packages are donated by local businesses and private citizens. We set aside specific meetings to pack boxes and process them to be shipped to servicemen and women. We also welcome cards and letters to include in the packages we send. Click Care Packages for more information including guidelines for writing cards and letters and a list of donation suggestions.
Another opportunity you have to help our organization is through cash donations to the Blue Star Moms. The cost of shipping care packages is a major expense to our organization. You can easily support our group with a cash donation to help offset these shipping fees. Remember our organization is a 501(c)3 and your donations should be tax deductible, however questions regarding this issue should be directed to your tax advisor. You may donate to Blue Star Moms Houston through our website via Pay Pal, or you can simply send a check made payable to Blue Star Moms Houston to P.O. Box 6121, Kingwood, TX 77325-6121.
And last but certainly not least we promote our organization through activities in the community. If you have a service organization that you would like to have a Blue Star Mom Representative speak or attend please contact us via email or through our Contact Us page. We want to spread the word about Blue Star Moms. If you know someone who may benefit from a call or outreach from Blue Star Moms, please contact us and we will follow up. We actively support the USO, Fisher House at the Debakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Camp Hope and local JROTC programs. We also love parades and patriotic events. Please contact us with your event soon so we can get that on our calendar as well.
